Throughout my career so far I have been involved in the design and art direction of many well-known on-the-shelf magazines. One stand-out story was when I was responsible for the launch of Harper’s Bazaar Kazakhstan in 2004. Employed as the Creative Director in the company’s Moscow office, I oversaw the design and launch of the magazine. Working closely with a team of Russian editors and designers and a translator the magazine was developed over the period of six months. New editorial staff were employed in Kazakhstan and assisted throughout the developmental stages in the preparation of their quarterly magazine launch.
Between the years 2003 – 2013, I worked on Q magazine’s standalone Glastonbury Review, which was produced and published onsite at the festival. Working alongside some of the country’s finest music journalists and photographers, the Glastonbury Review was created over three days for sale on Monday morning as festival-goers prepared to leave the site. This was a challenging project with restrictive technical problems, unpredictable weather and sleep deprivation, but every issue made it to press.
